ONE 2.0 // MAGIC REVIEW

WHERE TO BUY:

AVAILABLE AT YOUR FAVOURITE MURPHY'S MAGIC DEALER

EFFECT:

A card is signed by the spectators. Two of the hearts are initialed. One initialed heart is then visually pulled across the face of the card until it rests side by side with the other.

REVIEW:

PROS:

- The main handling is very visual and easy to follow which always makes for a great effect.

- The spectator is left with an impossible souvenir that he/she will keep for a long time. It is a very special moment for them.

- This is, in my opinion, a step forward in terms of the anniversary waltz effect. It is more visual and as soon as you look at the card, you know something magical has happened.

- The gimmicks are VERY well made. They provide you with everything except one little thing that helps to put together one part of the gimmick to the other.

- I really, really loved the Justin Miller handling. I think if I continue to perform this, I'll use his handling, as the effect happens in the spectators hand, which is a lot stronger than the "sliding the pip across" presentation.

- The main instructions are very well taught, but I felt like the volume was a bit too quiet. I could still hear it perfectly but needed to have it on full volume.

CONS:

- This is very pricey for what you get. It's $40 for the instructions and 20 gimmicks. So that's $2 per performance as you ruin a card every time you perform it. Refills are $20 for 20 cards. Again this is still pricey at $1 per performance.

- I performed this around 4 times in total to complete strangers, so they weren't like freinds or family that know how a lot of my tricks may be done. And on one occasion, one of the people I performed it to described the method of one of the aspects of the trick perfectly. I'm not going to reveal anything here but in essence, he said "I don't know how the heart 'dissapeared' but where it reappeared, I noticed that you *********----+". The rest is censored as it would reveal the method.

However, after a bit of thinking, I have come up with a way of really cleanly showing the face of the card after it has been signed on the back and the initials have been written (with no weird finger placements). It's a concept I can't remember where I learnt from but for people who would like to know about this method, please contact me through this website with proof that you have purchased this trick (screenshot of email receipt etc.).

WILL I USE IT:

MAYBE. I'm going to continue to trial this and if it consistently gets string enough reactions for me to warrant spending $1 per performance on, then I will use this. I just wish the refills were a lot cheaper than they are right now.

RATING:

7.5/10
